What service does iAccompany offer?
iAccompany helps you manage your, or your loved one’s appointment outcomes in a positive and informed manner. iAccompany provides a nursing professional to accompany an individual to and from their appointment. iAccompany’s nursing professional will arrive at the patient’s home in sufficient time to escort them to their appointment using commercial transportation (such as Uber or Lyft). The nursing professional will assist your loved one to the clinic, attend the appointment, take notes during the appointment, ask the customer questions requested to the medical professional, accompany the patient to post-appointment stops on the way home (such as pharmacy, lab, medical supplies retailer, etc.) and see that the patient is comfortably settled at home. iAccompany will post a summary report to the customer account and send an email notification when the report is ready for viewing. The Report will be written in easy to understood language. It will:
- provide a synopsis of the appointment
- detail any medicine or treatment changes
- provide the medical professional’s response to any questions posed
- provide the medical professional’s recommendations going forward
- confirm the next appointment date and time
What is needed to book an appointment?
First, register by creating a customer account on the website iAccompany.ca.
Second, on the website, add your loved ones as patients. Provide the health-related information that will be used to match a nursing professional with the skillset needed for your loved ones.
Last, request an iAccompany service using the “Appointments” tab found on our website or by using our mobile app. A valid credit card is collected and securely stored on the customer account. The credit card is charged after the appointment. iAccompany’s Relationship Manager will confirm the appointment.
How is the health information used?
iAccompany will use the medical information collected to match the patient with a nursing professional who will compassionately assist the patient with their specific needs.
The information will smooth the accompaniment, enabling the nursing professional more time for accurate note taking, targeted, time saving questioning of the medical professional and report creation that more closely reflects the nuance of the appointment. iAccompany will not sell or share personal information.
How secure is the health information iAccompany collects and creates in its reports?
Rest assured that iAccompany takes the privacy and security of patient information seriously through its partnership with Google, the most trusted technical service provider. For more information, please visit cloud.google.com/security.
How far in advance can an appointment be booked?
To better serve the patient and ensure coordination, it is best to book with iAccompany as early as possible. At the latest, appointment requests need to be received 48 hours in advance. Accommodation will be made as best as possible if an appointment request is made with less than 48 hours notice.
What forms of payment are accepted and how is payment made?
iAccompany accepts valid Visa, Mastercard and American Express credit cards. To secure the booking, credit card information will be taken at the time an appointment is requested. The credit card will not be charged until after the appointment has completed. Credit card information will be securely stored on the iAccompany customer account for future appointment requests.
What are the credentials of the nursing professionals?
Your iAccompany nursing professional will have successfully attained registration with the professional nursing accreditation body in the jurisdiction where the appointments take place. Alongside their professional accreditation, iAccompany nursing professionals will have demonstrated the ability to anticipate the needs of an aging adult while remaining patient with, and sensitive to, the challenges that aging adults face.
What role does the nursing professional play in the medical appointment?
Your iAccompany nursing professional:
- Accompanies the patient to and from the medical appointment in a safe and timely manner
- Liaises with the medical professional’s staff ensuring medical and personal records are up to date, and that any practice-specific requirements are met
- Ensures that the office staff are well equipped to provide the best interaction possible
- Observes the appointment and takes notes during the appointment
- Poses questions that customers have identified prior to the appointment and records the responses
- Observes the patient and poses additional questions that may arise as the medical professional proceeds with the appointment
- Confirms the next appointment and/or any referrals
What happens once the medical appointment is complete?
If a new prescription, lab work or medical device is required, the nursing professional will accompany the patient to the appropriate outlet as needed. Once these additional activities are complete, the nursing professional will accompany the patient safely home.
How long is a standard appointment and what if the appointment goes beyond that time frame?
The standard appointment is expected to take up to 2.5 hours and includes transportation and medical appointment time. If an appointment requires additional time with the patient, the customer will be billed in 15 minute increments at the rates noted in the terms for that particular appointment.

- Everyone Must Wear a Mask – the driver and our staff will wear a mask, and we ask all patients to wear one as well
- Social Distancing – during the entire appointment, our staff will work to ensure social distancing measures are followed as closely as possible while still assisting those patients who need a helping hand to get around
- Vehicle Cleanliness – iAccompany will only use transportation companies who are committed to the highest standards of vehicle cleanliness
- Cashless Transactions – our payment methods do not involve cash to reduce person to person contact and respect social distancing guidelines
- Keeping Informed – iAccompany is working to stay on top of the evolving situation regarding the Corona Virus and to follow the guidelines set out by the World Health Organization and Government of Canada.
